ISU has partnered with Dell and Apple to help students purchase and support their personal computers. Students can buy the computer directly from the company or through TechCyte at the ISU Bookstore. ISU Computer Repair is a warranty repair center for both Dell and Apple.
We recommend using the MajorSuccess program through TechCYte to find the right device for your specific needs.
The choice of operating system between Microsoft Windows or Apple OSX is up to each individual. Most applications used by majors within LAS will run on either operating system, or can be accessed remotely on servers or lab computers provided by the College or Department.
Many commonly needed software titles can be found at the below links. Of note, Office 365 ProPlus is free for students.
